Anyway they drank those stout...STOUT beers and it was at the turn of the cenrury when webcams came out....he toasted a drink to me on a new years eve that I was certain wouldn't filter thru the boy's kidney's!!!!

During the warmer months I do occasionally reach for a wheat beer I'm pretty sure that I've tried both ****'s Belles and Bad Penny, too. I know that I've seen them at Lowes, and didn't Applebees carry one of them for a short period?

Jason, I read that you prefer stout but my favorite craft beer is an ale, "Angry Angel" from Big Boss Brewery in Raleigh. If you get a chance, try it. I can never find it at local stores here but they usually carry "****'s Belles" which is a Belgian wheat beer. You would probably like "Bad Penny" a stout beer.

Jason, I'm pretty sure Chendo was directing his comment to Twit. Anyone that thinks they made a taste choice by drinking coors even though they drove a Budweiser truck, is clearly a redneck

Backwater, when I was younger I did appreciate liquor a lot more than beer. In my old age, though, I'm less interested in the alcohol and the buzz, and now I'm just looking for unique flavors.

I still enjoy a good, high end rum, tequila, or whiskey, but I usually save those for social settings. When I'm home alone and enjoying a movie, that's when the beer comes in

I don't want to throw too much at you guys at once, but I want to warn you guys against one of the grossest craft beers I've tried. I understand that tastes vary, and in a few years I might be different and love this one, but for now it was absolutely horrible.

That's Weyerbacher's Sunday Mole Stout.

A single beer was about $5, so I thought it had to be pretty special. And it had a cool label that pulled me in, but I should have known better; traditionally, the cooler the label the worse the flavor is. The description says, "imperial stout made with coffee, cocoa, cinnamon, and peppers". I usually like imperial stouts with coffee and a hint of a cocoa, so I thought that cinnamon and peppers might just give it an interesting kick.

Nope! That "mole" is supposed to be like mole sauce in Mexican food (pronounced MO-lay), so it had a distinct flavor of dirty feet mixed with chocolate and pinto beans.

I had never had a Mole Stout before, so for all I know, this might be the best mole stout in the world as compared to others. But it is NOT for me, and if anyone ever offers me a mole stout again I'll smile and courteously refuse while discreetly throwing up a little in my mouth.

Oh come on, the sarcasm was part of the point. That's not fair.

I'm a redneck? Wait, I thought you said I was a hipster! Darned identity crisis

So, I've had a few breweries email me to request that we announce this survey:

They plan to use the results to adjust their marketing, as well as to decide which beers to brew and distribute. It only takes a few minutes to complete but it will help them a lot, and if you choose at the end you can register to win 1 of 4 gift cards worth $50 at your favorite brewery!

In the comments at the end, be sure to mention that you found it on GoNC

Guinness has been brewing for about 115 years longer than coors or budweiser...

yes, you are indeed a redneck, but it has less to do with your choice of beverage than what you espouse, and how you present it

Oh, no, I fully admit that dark beers aren't necessarily for everyone. I remember the first time I tried one (an Amberbock that a friend highly recommended), I thought it was disgusting!

Many years ago, I would drink Michelob Light (with a dash of salt), and it was... OK. Then later I tried Blue Moon (a division of Miller), and it was better, but still just OK. But I always felt like ales tasted kind of weak and a little flavorless, so I just thought that I didn't like beer. I would drink them with certain foods, but that was all.

A few years ago, though, I stopped drinking sweetened drinks (to lose fat), and started mainly drinking unsweetened tea. That was definitely an acquired taste, but after about a month I couldn't stand sweet tea anymore! After that, I stopped wanting sugar very much at all, so fruity beers like Blue Moon became way too sweet!

That's when I tried my first Stout... either a Guiness or Killians, I don't remember which. The bitterness really appealed to me, and that's when I started trying other breweries.

I'll still drink the occasional ale, or even an IPA, with certain food pairings (IPA seems to go very well with Thai food), but if I'm just drinking a beer by itself, I'll go for a dark beer every time

In my opinion all the dark beer is awful, I don't see how you drink it. I've tried to acquire A taste for it. Not happening, I do agree with Americas taste test, Coors Lite is with out A doubt the best tasting beer, and I used to drive A Bud Truck. If drinking that dark horse pee is classy, I guess i'm A red neck. The people that have brewed beer for years got past all that dark pee 50 years ago, it didn't sell then, and it's still not good, lol
